This is the second TomTom device I have bought. The first was bought about 2 years ago and is still going strong. My wife uses it to go to school, which is about 2 hours from our home. Even though she knows the route it gives her options of rerouting when traffic is bad or construction is going on. It also allows her to better estimate what time she will get there. The second was bought recently for my vehicle since I had to drive to another state for work and didn't want to take the one my wife was using. By far amazon.com has the best price for a new, not refurbished unit. A lot of people complain about the unit not working after downloading a huge map update. I just didn't download it and have had zero issues. I download the user generated updates instead.
